We acquired an exciting new document at the Washington Library back in 2016. It was past of a chain of correspondence between George Washington and Benjamin Tallmadge of Turn: Washington’s Spies fame. The two discussed the practicability of launching a raid against Long Island in 1781 to suppress Tory operations in Westchester County, New York and western Connecticut.
